We are getting really excited about being in St. Louis for the GW Summit! Recently, I asked Leslie Davis (Director of Operations, Destination St. Louis and GW Summit planning committee member) to tell us a little more about Saint Louis and the optional tour you can sign up for on Saturday, March 8th. Read what she has to say:
1. Why are you excited that we are offering a tour of St. Louis? We are excited to be offering a tour of St. Louis because there are so many wonderful areas of the city that you would never see if you just come in to attend a conference and never got a chance to explore. The overview of downtown and Arch tram tour is a highlight for every visitor to St. Louis and the opportunity to have an authentic Italian meal in the historic neighborhood known as "The Hill" will be a delightful way to cap your visit to this hidden gem of a city.
2. What would you say to someone who is deciding if they should go on the tour at the end of the Summit? Don't miss this opportunity! St. Louis has much more to offer than meets the eye and out tour guide will share some of the interesting history of this city while you get to experience a wonderful Arch visit and have some local culinary specialties.
3. Tell us a little about the area around the hotel? Near the hotel is a world-class zoo, the St. Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis History Museum, which all have free admissions. There is also The Muny, which is a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre; the Boathouse which is a lovely place for a meal; and several wonderful jogging, walking and biking paths. 4. What do you think about the Summit being in St. Louis? We're honored that St. Louis was chosen for the 2014 Summit and hopeful that the central location will encourage many people to attend. We're also looking forward to expanding the awareness of Global Women here in St. Louis as well and we can't wait to spend time with everyone involved.
