Naw Thin Thin Nge -Myanmar
Naw Thin Thin Nge is a 31-year-old young woman from the poor village of Yay Pyu Inn in Myanmar (Burma). When she became a Christian as a teenaged girl, her Buddhist parents chose to neglect her saying, "Let your God save you, we want nothing more to do with you." She had an extremely challenging life as she had to care for herself from a very young age. Thin Thin had a desire to become a medical professional, but knew she could never afford to attend the medical college. Yet, Thin Thin's church encouraged her to apply for the Community Health Worker Training organized by Global Women partner Naw Paw Gaw and the ZOE Development Center. Scholarship funds from GW enabled her to complete the 6-month training and equipped her to find employment in the medical profession. She is now employed as a nursing assistant at a local hospital and recognized by her supervisor for her hard work and love for the Lord as she cares for and serves others. Thin Thin now supports herself, her poor parents, and is most thankful that she can now tithe to her church! Global Women's support of this training helped Thin Thin change her story, and it continues to support other young women each year who enter the same program.
When you give a gift to Global Women this year, you will help to change over 1,700 stories of women like Thin Thin in 2014!
