Global Women’s Annual Meeting: Summary of Key Discussions and Presentations

Global Women held its Annual Meeting September 23-24 in Pelham, AL. The gathering provided an opportunity for the leadership team to discuss key areas of business, identify critical decision points and continue praying and planning for the future.  During the meeting, Officers were elected and Directors were appointed to standing and ad hoc committees (A summary of key discussions and presentations is listed below.)
There was also a time of celebration to honor Rev. Kristin Rogers, as her six-year (two-term) service to the Board concluded. Under Rev. Roger’s leadership, the organization successfully managed a leadership transition, developed a new long term strategic plan and instituted new systems of accountability and efficiency. Throughout her term, her work was often compared to that of a “bridge” – helping Global Women get from “here to there” even through difficult seasons. During the celebration, Rev. Rogers was presented with a replica of a bridge with the inscription “You were our bridge over troubled waters.”

After recalling and sharing special Global Women memories, Rev. Rogers offered the following reflection:
I am so thankful to Global Women for the opportunity I was given to serve on the Board of Directors for the past six years. What an amazing gift it has been to meet women with gifts in leadership, with a desire to serve God by investing in other women, and with deep faith. I have been changed. I am sincerely grateful for the past three years in which I was asked to serve as President of the Board. This Board of women has worked hard to see Global Women through significant changes. The times we spent dreaming together about what might be have deeply influenced my faith. I have learned to be a better leader, both stronger and more compassionate. I leave my term on the Board with more excitement about Global Women than I have had in all of my six years. Amazing things lie ahead!
